Harder blades (north of HRc 45) have been exhaustively tested by OEM's and are very difficult to get past the stake test. The Meg-Mo system is not "recent" they have been around for several years. I think the cut you get from them is good but I don't know how they compare to doubles ( I've never used doubles).
